Donor Relations Specialist

Purpose of the Job

The Donor Relations Specialist is one of the first and most important points of contact for Coptic Orphans' stakeholders. The incumbent records and maintains donor data, ensuring accurate processing of donations, handling sponsorships, and responding to donor inquiries. This role provides customer support while upholding the mission of Coptic Orphans.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Data Management & Processing

  • Record and Update donor and sponsor data in Salesforce.
  • Process donations, update donor payment methods, and address declined transactions.
  • Compile and generate weekly donor maintenance report on a weekly basis, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.

Donor Engagement & Support

  • Conduct new sponsor orientation and record sponsors inquiries.
  • Respond to donor inquiries via phone and email, providing timely and professional assistance to ensure a positive donor experience.
  • Support donor engagement efforts through outreach and relationship-building.

Outreach

  • Provide support in the planning and execution of outreach and fundraising events, ensuring seamless coordination and efficient event operations.
  • Engage with donors during campaigns and outreach efforts to encourage contributions and strengthen relationships.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in donor relations, customer service, or database management.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English; ability to understand Arabic is required (reading and writing proficiency is a plus).
  • Knowledge of Coptic culture is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), as well as Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint; Salesforce proficiency is required.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Persuasive, polished, and articulate communicator; must be comfortable and confident on the telephone with stakeholders

Travel Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Domestic travel may reach up to 30% of the time. Occasional international travel is expected.
  • Typical office environment such as walking, sitting, typing, using office equipment, and occasional lifting of boxes or luggage during travel.
  • Working out of the official hours and on weekends may be required.
