Job Description

First Shift 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM (window)
Starting hourly rate = $19.00

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Receives, compiles and tracks recovery paperwork to create a donor chart. Ensures that incoming information received is handled in a timely manner to create and update charts for review queues. Reviews and assesses the chart information to determine Donor Eligibility based on Review Criteria. Ensures that the eligibility is compliant with all regulatory and accreditation standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Compiles donor charts and ensures required paperwork is present and legible.
2. Utilizes the first review criteria to assess the donor chart records and determine the initial eligibility of the donor prior to moving the chart to the second review stage.
3. Participates in initial process development and identifies and participates in continuous process improvement opportunities.
4. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Donor Information Specialist I
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Intermediate computer literacy.
• Proficient in critical thinking and decision-making.

WORK ENVIRONMENT and PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES
Must be able to meet the required physical demands with or without reasonable accommodation.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college preferred.
• Certified Tissue Bank Specialist (CTBS) preferred.
• Familiar with FDA and AATB regulations and standards.
• Familiar with Medical terminology.
• Demonstrated ability to:
◦ Communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
◦ Organize records and utilize critical thinking skills to perform review and assessment of those records.
◦ Work in a fast-paced environment and juggle competing tasks and demands
◦ Maintain focus with a high attention to detail.
