The Position

The Donation Coordinator (DC) is responsible for maximizing eye and tissue donation while ensuring optimal outcomes for processors, donor families, hospital partners, internal customers, and other stakeholders. Primary responsibilities include approaching families over the phone regarding tissue donation while providing optimal customer service and complying with all regulatory requirements.

What You’ll Do

  • Present families or designee that have recently lost a loved one with the opportunity of eye and tissue donation over the phone
  • Complete authorization or disclosure form with donor family or designee
  • Help guide the donor family or designee through the tissue donation process
  • Collect hospital and patient information and pre-screening criteria on all incoming donor calls
  • Serve as a point of contact for Funeral Homes regarding donation status
  • Follow best practices and provide exemplary customer service while communicating with coworkers and stakeholders including Hospital staff, Clinical partners, Medical Examiners, and others

Schedule

Three 12-hour night shifts Friday/Saturday/Sunday

What You’ll Bring

  • Two years of previous experience in sales or medical related field
  • Excellent telephone communication skills
  • Ability to express empathy and gain authorization for tissue donation in potentially emotional situations
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask
