Elderwood at Lancaster is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (RN) to lead our Nursing Services Department. This executive leadership role is responsible for overseeing clinical operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, driving quality outcomes, and developing a high-performing nursing team in our skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility.
Located just outside Buffalo, NY, Elderwood at Lancaster provides skilled nursing, rehabilitation, and sub-acute care to residents with complex medical needs. (RN - Director of Nursing): What You’ll Lead & Own
Nursing Operations & Staffing: Oversight of nurse staffing, scheduling, onboarding, and development across all shifts
Clinical Quality & Outcomes: Assessment, planning, documentation, and delivery of high-quality nursing care
Interdisciplinary Coordination: Collaboration with physicians, pharmacy partners, consultants, and ancillary services
Leadership Development: Direct supervision, coaching, and performance management of nursing leadership and staff
Education & Training: Design and execution of orientation, in-service training, and ongoing clinical education
Regulatory Excellence: Participation and leadership in Quality Management and continuous improvement initiatives
Workforce Pipeline Development: May serve as Program Coordinator for the Nursing Assistant Training Program
(RN - Director of Nursing):
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (NY required)
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration preferred
Minimum 2+ years of supervisory nursing leadership experience (DON or ADON level strongly preferred)
Geriatric or long-term care experience highly valued
Proven ability to lead teams, manage change, and improve outcomes
