Job Description

Job Title: Domestics Part Planner

Company: AISIN North Carolina

Department: Production Control

Location: Durham, NC

The Domestic Part Planner is responsible for executing and coordinating procuring components from overseas and domestic suppliers. This position is accountable for ensuring that there is sufficient inventory to meet production requirements and building relationships with external suppliers to become knowledgeable of their capabilities.

Position Responsibilities

The incumbent is expected to perform the following functions that the company has determined are essential to this position:

  • Proactively monitor overall Master Production Schedules, balancing current and future orders to achieve the inventory level plan.
  • Evaluation of risk & development of material simulations.
  • Update and track daily inventory.
  • Plan and implement build out and new model material planning.
  • Order parts weekly, biweekly, and/or every quarter depending on supplier terms.
  • Communicate with vendors on any order discrepancies and changes in demand.
  • Expedite parts when necessary and track expedited orders.
  • Ensure desired inventory levels are achieved to support daily production requirements.
  • Maintain communication and relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
  • Report any inventory discrepancies that could impact production to management for an appropriate resolution.
  • Ensure prompt communication of schedule changes throughout operations.
  • Other related duties as required.

Required Skills and Abilities

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a role relating to Planning, Supply Chain, or in a related role.
  • Computer skills — Advanced Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.
  • Ability to interpret BOMs.
  • Experience with ordering systems.
  • Strong drive to investigate issues and demonstrated problem solving abilities.
  • Good relationship building skills.
  • The ability and history of driving change with a self-starter mentality.
  • Intermediate analytical abilities and effective written and verbal communication skills.

Education/Training/Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Supply Chain, related discipline or equivalent experience.
