Domestic Account Executive I responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Conduct thorough research to identify potential leads and prospects, develop tailored entrance strategies, and qualify their transportation spend to generate new business opportunities.
Manage a high volume of outbound phone calls to sell transportation solutions, negotiate rates, and service your existing client network.
Grow a book of business through identifying, sourcing, and developing relationships with prospective clients.
Present the full range of services offered by R+L Global Logistics to customers, building comprehensive logistics and supply chain solutions that address their unique needs.
Ensure precise input of customer information into our transportation management system.
Collaborate closely with the Capacity team to secure load coverage and dispatch arrangements, address shipment challenges, and ensure that shippers and consignees are well-informed.
Cultivate long-term relationships with clients and carriers by consistently delivering unmatched customer service.
Utilize upselling techniques to promote and sell additional services.
Manage a robust sales pipeline, lead generation, and sales funnel.
Demonstrate a proactive approach to identifying and resolving problems that may arise in the course of business.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Required:
High school diploma or GED is required
Previous experience selling a “service” to customers or businesses
Strong negotiation, questioning skills, conflict resolution, and exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Detail-oriented mindset with effective time management and multitasking abilities
Demonstrated strong work ethic and eagerness to learn and apply sales techniques in a fast-paced environment
Possess the drive, assertiveness, passion, and dedication required to excel in the logistics industry
Available to work full-time on-site at our office location
Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree is a plus.
Working knowledge of the sales cycle, a sales pipeline, and a sales funnel is a plus
Previous experience in full truckload and 3PL sales is a plus
Familiarity with transportation modes such as dry van, expedited, flatbed, oversized, refrigerated, or intermodal is a plus.
