Domain Principal – People Change

Fixed Term (6 Months) – Wellington based

The Opportunity | Ara Whish Mahi

This fixed term role is based in Wellington and offers an opportunity to provide clear, well governed coordination of people change and activity in our Enterprise and Integrity Services segment that supports the whole of Inland Revenue. You will work closely with leaders, HR, and Employment Relations to help ensure the people impacts of change across IR are managed fairly, consistently, and in line with public sector obligations.

This role is well suited to someone looking to broaden or deepen their existing people change experience.

In this role you will:

  • Act as the central coordination point for people change activity, maintaining oversight end-to-end from initiation through to implementation and embedment.
  • Collaborate with HR business partners and experts to identify, assess, and manage people related impacts arising from change proactively.
  • Support leaders to understand and meet their responsibilities for managing people change in a fair, consistent, and timely manner.
  • Ensure people change activity aligns with organisational change processes, consultation requirements, employment obligations, and governance expectations.
  • Identify people related risks (including employment relations, engagement, wellbeing, and workforce impacts) and contribute to mitigation planning.
  • Coordinate inputs from multiple stakeholders to support clear, coherent, and well sequenced change delivery.
  • Ensure required documentation, consultation activity, and approvals are completed in line with legislative and organisational requirements.

About you | Mōu

You will bring:

  • Experience supporting or contributing to organisational or people change in the public sector or a complex organisational environment.
  • An understanding of public sector employment requirements, consultation processes, and change governance.
  • The ability to work effectively with leaders, business partners, and Employment Relations.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to integrate information quickly and provide clear, balanced advice
  • Well developed stakeholder management skills and a collaborative working style.
  • Confidence working in environments with competing priorities, tight timeframes, and high levels of scrutiny.
