Our goal is to bring together business acumen with full-stack technical know-how to develop innovative solutions for our clients’ most complex challenges.

World Wide Technology (WWT) is seeking a Domain Architect to join the Digital Workspace Virtualization practice. The role is focused initially on post-sales architecture and delivery, with a defined path into pre-sales scoping, client workshops, and statement of work development as the candidate builds client-facing experience within WWT engagements.

This is a senior individual contributor seat for a technologist who is as comfortable in a client advisory conversation as they are deep in a platform configuration. The successful candidate works across enterprise virtual desktop and app delivery, modern device management, and cloud-hosted desktop solutions, often simultaneously, across named accounts in WWT’s portfolio.

Over time the role expands into pre-sales activities including client-facing workshops, solution scoping, and SOW authorship as the candidate demonstrates technical depth and client engagement skills.

What will you be doing?

The Digital Workspace Virtualization practice within WWT’s broader Enterprise Solutions & Architecture organization is hiring a Domain Architect to lead post-sales architecture and delivery on enterprise virtual desktop, app delivery, and modern device management engagements, and to grow into a pre-sales scoping and advisory seat as client-facing experience deepens.

The role exists because demand for our existing Domain Architect bench has outpaced capacity. Client engagements increasingly span Windows 365, Azure Virtual Desktop, Omnissa Horizon, and Citrix DaaS/CVAD, often in the same opportunity, and cut across modern device management (Intune, Workspace ONE, Apple Business Manager), cloud landing zones (Azure primary, AWS growing), and security overlays (Zscaler, ZPA).

The Domain Architect is the technical owner who keeps these moving parts coherent across architecture, deployment, migration, and cutover.

This is a senior, client-facing, high-trust seat. The successful candidate works without close supervision across multiple concurrent engagements, holds the line on design standards and repeatable patterns, and is the primary technical escalation point for platform issues, architecture gaps, and design validation questions on active work.

Responsibilities

Post-Sales Delivery (primary focus)

  • The Domain Architect leads or co-leads architecture and deployment of enterprise end-user computing solutions including Windows 365 Cloud PC, Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), Omnissa Horizon, and Citrix DaaS/CVAD across client environments. They own technical delivery workstreams including environment design, configuration, migration planning, pilot execution, and production cutover, with accountability for quality and client acceptance.
  • They serve as the primary technical escalation point for platform issues, architecture gaps, and design validation questions across active engagements, including deep troubleshooting of Horizon, Citrix, Windows 365, and related infrastructure components.
  • They define and enforce design standards and reference architectures across engagements, ensuring consistency in how solutions are built, configured, and handed off, and pushing repeatable patterns rather than one-off designs.
  • They drive execution strategy by defining deployment sequences, testing and UAT approaches, and migration flows, owning not just the technical design but how the project runs technically from start to finish.
  • They actively manage cross-domain delivery dependencies including networking, DNS, storage, load balancing (F5 and similar), SQL, and identity infrastructure, surfacing blockers early and holding teams accountable to resolution timelines.
  • They conduct site-to-site and platform-to-platform VDI migrations, including weekend cutover planning, phased rollout coordination, and rollback procedures.
  • They deliver MDM/UEM architecture and implementation using Microsoft Intune, Omnissa Workspace ONE, and Apple Business Manager, including zero-touch provisioning, Entra ID dynamic groups, policy frameworks, and app assignment at scale.
  • They architect and implement cloud landing zone integrations for VDI workloads, including Azure (primary), AWS (growing), and occasionally GCP, with a focus on networking, identity, and compute sizing.
  • They engage Zscaler and Zscaler Private Access (ZPA) as a network perimeter layer for end-user computing environments, including transition planning from legacy solutions such as Juniper.
  • They develop and maintain technical documentation including architecture decision records, as-built documents, runbooks, and handoff materials appropriate for both engineering and executive audiences.
  • They participate in client status reviews and steering meetings, presenting delivery progress, risk, and escalation items clearly and constructively, and collaborate with WWT account teams, product specialists, and vendor partners (Microsoft, Omnissa, Citrix, Zscaler) throughout engagement delivery.

Pre-sales support (initial) and scoping (expanding)

  • The Domain Architect supports senior architects in pre-sales activities including discovery sessions, technical assessments, and solution positioning with client stakeholders.
  • They contribute to statement of work development by authoring technical scope sections, effort estimates, assumptions, and out-of-scope definitions.
  • Over time they lead scoping workshops independently, driving alignment on solution boundaries, ownership, and milestone definitions with client technical and project leadership.
  • They assist in developing and refining repeatable engagement models, workshop formats, and SOW templates for WWT’s Digital Workspace Virtualization practice, and represent WWT in client-facing conversations alongside account executives and practice leads, positioning WWT’s advisory and delivery capabilities in the digital workspace and virtualization space.
