The intern will work under the Environmental Services Director and support environmental services in accordance with Juniper’s philosophy, policies and procedures, as well as applicable federal, state, and local regulatory standards. The internship provides hands-on experience supporting housekeeping/laundry and maintenance operations, preventive maintenance, work orders, environmental rounds, facility upkeep, safety procedures, and general repairs. Responsibilities: Assist in coordinating Environmental Services with other departments Support the delivery of high-quality Environmental Services Assist with Housekeeping/Laundry and Maintenance Associate recruitment and selection Maintain the Environmental Services Log and complete work orders Assist with preventive maintenance, including painting, wallpapering, and deep cleaning Inspect storage areas, work rooms, and janitorial/utility closets Assist with overseeing outside services performed under contracts and work orders Perform environmental rounds Follow established procedures for equipment and supplies Assist with routine inspection and cleaning of equipment and systems Maintain required information for hazardous chemicals and ensure proper labeling and storage Follow established waste disposal procedures Communicate with Environmental Services team members, residents, and families Provide written and oral reports to the Environmental Services Director Support special events and programs Follow safety regulations, including fire protection, infection control, bloodborne pathogens, hazardous waste, and quality assurance procedures Assist with maintaining adequate supplies and equipment Perform plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs within own capabilities Support pest control, grounds maintenance, landscaping, snow removal, and general property upkeep Requirements: High School Diploma Must be at least 21 years old Valid state driver’s license with appropriate class Clean driving record and professional appearance Knowledge of applicable governmental regulations Knowledge of the physiology and psychology of the older adult Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English Ability to manage time efficiently Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the position, including pushing, pulling, moving, and/or lifting a minimum of 50 pounds Ability to assist in resident evacuation during emergency situations [ NOTE: Because this is a SkillBridge Internship, it is understood that no single candidate will have equal expertise in all the areas of responsibility listed. Successful candidates will possess a compelling combination of many of them and the self-awareness and wisdom to leverage existing and/or new resources in the area(s) where they lack personal mastery.] Vets2PM Provides: Mentorship and guidance via weekly SkillBridge Intern Zoom Meetings. PM Fundamentals course, Resume writing, LinkedIn optimization, and interview skills course. Other free resources, including an electronic copy of 'How to Speak Civilian Fluently'. Other: Not all internships include certification training by Vets2PM, as many host companies include their own internship-focused training instead.
