Job Description

We’re looking for Documentation Specialist to join our new global Windows Engineering Support Hub. If you are detail-oriented and demonstrate a high level of consistency and accuracy, this might be the perfect next step for you.

In this role, you will play a key part in supporting product development by creating, maintaining, and optimizing technical drawings and 3D models. You will work closely with engineers and other stakeholders to ensure that designs meet functional, quality, and manufacturing requirements.

Meet your Team

You’ll join a newly established Engineering team in Gniezno reporting directly to a Team Leader based locally. As the team is being built, you’ll have a real opportunity to influence ways of working, standards, and team practices from the ground up.

Although the team is locally based, it operates in a global context, supporting the wider organization and contributing to solutions used across multiple countries.

In terms of structure, two team members are responsible for maintaining clear, accurate, and up-to-date documentation, while the other two focus on technical development and ongoing support.

We work closely with our colleagues in Denmark, where most of the core development takes place, so you’ll gain real international exposure from day one.

Your responsibilities

  • Create, maintain, and retire 2D drawings and 3D CAD models in accordance with project and product lifecycle requirements
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including Bills of Materials (BOMs) and design specifications
  • Update drawings and models based on engineering changes, feedback, and change management processes
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, manufacturing teams, and project stakeholders to support product development
  • Participate in design reviews and technical discussions, contributing to design accuracy and feasibility
  • Ensure all designs comply with internal standards as well as relevant industry and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain CAD libraries, templates, and design standards to ensure consistency and efficiency across projects
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives for designing tools and workflows, including exploring how AI can enhance efficiency
  • Ensure proper version control and documentation integrity across all design assets
  • Participate in occasional business trips as required

What you will bring into the organization:

  • Degree or diploma in Mechanical Design or a related field
  • Proven experience as a Documentation Specialist (could be also CAD Designer or in a similar role)
  • Proficiency of CAD software (Creo and or SolidWorks)
  • Experience with updating documentation with Wind Chill to SAP
  • Strong understanding of technical drawings, tolerances, and manufacturing processes
  • Experience working in an engineering or product development environment

We are looking for individuals who bring a structured and analytical approach to their work, combined with curiosity and strong attention to detail.

  • Detail-oriented, with a high level of consistency and accuracy
  • Structured and well-organized approach to work
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Proactive, solution-oriented mindset
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively

We believe in building a workplace where people feel valued, supported, and empowered to grow. Here’s what you can expect:

  • A respectful and supportive culture based on trust
  • Stable employment with a company present in Poland for over 35 years
  • A friendly, engaged team with plenty of opportunities to grow and learn (including Nordic walking, running club, and a speedway fan club)
  • Annual bonus
  • Flexible working hours
  • Private medical care, life insurance, and a Multisport card
  • Hybrid working model (although we expect 3 days on site)
  • Employee Pension Scheme (3.5%), fully funded by VELUX (offered after the first 6 months of employment)
  • Support through our Social Fund – including holiday subsidies and gifts for employees and their children
  • Co-financed summer camps for children
  • Access to company sports and hobby clubs (e.g. run club)
  • Support from the VELUX Employee Foundation
  • Discounts on VELUX products, and more
