Documentation and Port Clerk
to work in
Nairobi
, Kenya

Job Summary:

Effectively and efficiently coordinate all Import
and Export shipments Customs clearance and handling at various customs
clearance points including JKIA (Jomo Kenyatta International Airport), ICD
(Inland Container Depot), Container Freight Stations, Border points etc.
Professionally support the logistics
functions in compliance with clients, customs and all regulatory authorities’
requirements
.

DUTIES
& RESPONSIBILITIES:

Regulatory Compliance
:

·
Compliance with Customs and local authorities’
requirements for imports/exports handling of shipments including but not
limited to:

·
Ensuring 100% compliance of shipment documents as per
regulatory requirements.

·
Follow up on processing of customs entries and
ensuring close follow up until they are released.

·
Proper Handling and accountability of all import and
export documents.

·
Generate clearance documents for customs clearance

·
Quality Assurance

·
Work jointly with the team to implement exports /
imports SOPs

·
Maintain exports/ imports records

·
Maintain allocated documents as per approved Import /
Export SOP

·
Operations Management

·
Collect documents from all handling sheds at the ports
(JKIA and ICD)

·
Capture IDFs, Imports and Exports entries in customs
system

·
Follow up of customs approval and releases of Imports
and Export entries

·
Manage parcels, documents, and letters as per delivery
instructions, ensuring signatures are obtained as per receipts and deliveries
effected.

·
Dispatch all internal and external imports and exports
documentation within scheduled timelines

·
Engage with inspection authorities to ensure timely
inspection

·
Proper handling and accountability of all shipment
documents.

·
Liaise with all regulatory authorities at the ports
(JKIA and ICD) to ensure expedited shipment clearance and release.

·
Communicate to Imperial shipment collection form
airport upon release by customs.

·
Participate in the implementation of departmental and
site EMS objectives

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

·
A Certification in either Customs Administration,
freight forwarding, business management, clearing & forwarding

·
East Africa Customs Freight Forwarding Practicing
Certificate (EACFFPC) is an added advantage

·
Clearing and forwarding working experience –
Minimum 2 years

·
Analytical skills, attention to detail

·
Excellent Communication skills

·
Decision–making, problem-solving, creativity

·
Analytical skills, attention to detail

·
Ability to work in a team environment

·
Ability to work independently with minimal
supervision
