Job Duties

The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles is hiring for a Document Imaging Specialist Work Lead for a position within its Document Imaging department at our headquarters location in Richmond, VA.

This position is open to current DMV employees only.

This position is responsible for receiving, processing, and verifying driver license and title applications and supporting documents submitted from DMV Customer Service Centers, DMV Selects, Dealers, and DMV work centers statewide.

The role ensures all documents are accurately prepared, scanned, verified, and entered into DMV’s electronic systems. Additionally, the position is responsible for maintaining scanning equipment, performing quality control, leading team efforts as needed, and supporting various office tasks as needed to ensure smooth operations.

The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, serves approximately 6.2 million licensed drivers and ID card holders with over 8.4 million registered vehicles. Minimum Qualifications

  • Knowledge of standard office practices, including filing systems, data entry, and document handling with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in using and maintaining scanning equipment and document management systems for accurate processing.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks effectively and meet strict deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills for interacting professionally with team members, customers, and stakeholders, fostering a positive and efficient work environment.

Additional Considerations

  • Familiarity with DMV’s document management systems, such as OnBase, and DMV-specific policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work accurately in high-volume processing environments, ensuring compliance and attention to detail in document handling.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills, with a focus on resolving inquiries professionally and promoting a collaborative team atmosphere.
  • Proficiency in office software and PC applications to support data entry, reporting, and daily documentation tasks.
  • Proven record of resolving discrepancies and enhancing efficiency in administrative processes.
