Job Description
The Document Controller / Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing technical and operational documentation for the facility while supporting procurement activities, including sourcing, purchasing, and vendor coordination. This role ensures accurate document control, regulatory compliance, and timely acquisition of materials and services critical to plant operations. This is an on-site role based in Washington, WV.

Document Control
- Maintain, update, and organize all plant documentation including SOPs, work instructions, engineering drawings, and safety documentation
- Ensure document control processes comply with regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, EPA, ISO standards)
- Manage document revision control, approvals, distribution, and archiving
- Coordinate with engineering, operations, and quality teams to ensure documentation accuracy and consistency
- Track document changes and maintain audit-ready records
- Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation
- Implement and improve document management systems and workflows
Procurement & Supply Chain
- Source, evaluate, and procure materials, equipment, and services required for plant operations
- Issue purchase orders and ensure compliance with company policies and budgets
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment to avoid operational disruptions
- Liaise with vendors and suppliers to negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules
- Track shipments and resolve issues related to delays, damaged goods, or discrepancies
- Maintain supplier records and evaluate vendor performance
- Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and production teams to forecast procurement needs
- Ensure procurement activities adhere to safety, environmental, and company standards
Cross-Functional Support
- Coordinate between procurement, operations, and document control to support capital projects and maintenance activities
- Assist with contract management and documentation for suppliers and service providers
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within supply chain and documentation processes
- Generate reports related to procurement metrics, document control status, and inventory levels
Education & Experience
- 3–7 years of experience in document control, procurement, or supply chain in a manufacturing or chemical plant environment
- Experience working with regulated environments (e.g., chemical, oil & gas, pharmaceuticals) is highly preferred
Technical Skills
- Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for procurement and inventory management
- Experience with document management systems (e.g., SharePoint, OpenText, EDMS)
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Familiarity with plant documentation standards and engineering drawings
Knowledge & Competencies
- Understanding of chemical plant operations and safety standards
- Knowledge of procurement processes, contract terms, and vendor management
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
