px Group has been awarded a major Operations, Engineering and Maintenance (OE&M) contract by NZT Power and the Northern Endurance Partnership (NEP) This work will support two major regional projects:

  • NZT Power’s carbon capture plant
  • NEP’s onshore compression facilities

Over the initial five-year term, px Group will deliver the OE&M requirements of the Operational Readiness phase, supporting commissioning and managing the handover from the Joint Venture project teams into full operations.

The Opportunity

We are now recruiting for a Document Controller.

In this role you will be responsible for the establishment, management, and governance of document control systems and information management processes during the pre-operational phase of the NZT and NEP projects.

The position is critical in enabling effective information exchange between project stakeholders, supporting technical query management, and ensuring that documentation, data, and records are accurate, traceable, and audit-ready to support commissioning, handover, and steady-state operations.


You’ll be supported with personalised on the job training, coaching, mentoring and twice-yearly development and performance reviews to help maintain & develop your contributions and competence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish, configure, and manage the EDMS, ensuring appropriate structure, access controls, version control, and document lifecycle management processes are in place.
  • Define and implement document control procedures, standards, and workflows aligned to project requirements, contractual obligations, and px Group management systems.
  • Manage the control, distribution, and storage of all project and operational documentation, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and traceability.
  • Coordinate document numbering, naming conventions, metadata standards, and classification systems to ensure consistency across all stakeholders.
  • Facilitate the efficient exchange of information between project teams, contractors, OEMs, and clients, ensuring timely and controlled document transmittals.
  • Establish and manage technical query (TQ) processes, including logging, tracking, and close-out of queries, ensuring clear ownership, response timelines, and audit trails.
  • Maintain registers for documents, transmittals, technical queries, and correspondence, ensuring real-time visibility of status and progress.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Relevant qualification in Information Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in document control within major projects, engineering, or industrial environments.
  • Experience in setting up and managing EDMS platforms (e.g. Aconex, SharePoint, Asite, or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of document control principles, including version control, metadata, and audit requirements.
  • Experience managing technical queries, document transmittals, and project information flows.
  • Familiarity with commissioning, handover, and Operations Readiness documentation requirements.
