Job Description

A major transport infrastructure project (valued at more than $1 billion) is underway across South East Queensland, delivering complex rail, station and civil works across greenfield and brownfield environments. The head contractor is seeking a Document Controller to manage information and records for the greenfield delivery scope. You'll administer the common data environment, maintain document registers and version control, coordinate transmittals and ensure accessibility of project information with rigorous attention to accuracy and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer common data environment (CDE) or EDRMS on behalf of the project
  • Maintain document numbering, revisions, statuses and approval workflows
  • Coordinate document transmittals and approval processes
  • Manage drawing registers and specification controls
  • Produce document reports and management metrics
  • Support document-related audits and compliance reviews
  • Respond to document requests and manage access permissions
  • Coordinate with design, construction and client teams on document matters
  • Maintain project information security and confidentiality standards
  • Support commissioning document preparation and handover dossier completion

What We're Looking For

  • No degree required; qualification in business administration, project support or records management is a bonus
  • 2+ years' document control or project administration experience
  • Experience on a construction or engineering project of $100m+
  • Hands-on use of common data environment or EDRMS
  • Understanding of document numbering, revisions, statuses and transmittals
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office and spreadsheet management
  • 2+ years' average tenure per employer with at least one document control role held for 2+ years
  • Able to obtain construction induction card if site attendance required
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to compliance detail
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
