The opportunity

Grid & Power Quality Solutions and Service (GPQS) is Hitachi Energy's world-leading business for grid connections and power quality solutions. Our European operations bring together more than 1,000 skilled professionals across 16 countries, supporting customers in utilities, renewables, industry, transportation, data centers, and infrastructure.

You will join a team where diversity fuels collaboration and innovation. We are growing fast — in hydrogen, data centers, and e-mobility — and your work will directly support that growth by keeping our project documentation accurate, accessible, and compliant.

As Document Controller, you will be the backbone of our project information flow. You will work closely with engineers, project managers, and external partners to ensure everyone has the right version of the right document at the right time. If you are organized, detail-oriented, and thrive in a dynamic project environment, this role is for you.

How you'll make an impact

  • Establish and maintain a robust document control system covering engineering drawings, specifications, reports, and correspondence.

  • Receive, log, distribute, and track all incoming and outgoing project documents accurately and on time.

  • Ensure documents are correctly formatted, numbered, classified, and indexed according to established procedures.

  • Manage document revisions and ensure only the latest approved versions are accessible to relevant stakeholders.

  • Perform quality checks on documents for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with project and company standards.

  • Coordinate with internal departments and external parties to facilitate document exchange and timely submission.

  • Maintain a comprehensive electronic and hard copy document archive.

  • Train project team members on document control procedures and system usage.

  • Support audits to ensure compliance with document control policies.

Your background

  • Proven experience as a Document Controller, ideally in an engineering, construction, or manufacturing environment.

  • Familiarity with document management systems (DMS) and software.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Fluency in Dutch and English, both written and spoken; French is a plus.

  • Solid organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail.

  • A relevant degree or certification in document control or a related field is a plus.
