At Hitachi Energy, we are establishing and developing an Operation Center of Excellence in Madrid, Spain (ESOPC) within Grid & Power Quality Solutions business in Europe (HBUEU).

As a Document Control Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of technical documentation across complex projects.

This position offers the chance to work closely with Project Management, Engineering, and Planning teams, while developing expertise in cutting-edge document management systems.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Register, issue, update, and archive technical project documentation.

  • Maintain and update the Document Management System (DMS).

  • Prepare and manage project document lists in collaboration with all disciplines.

  • Coordinate with internal teams and clients to ensure accurate and traceable document delivery.

  • Monitor document status and update planning dates with Project Management and Engineering.

  • Prepare regular reports on documentation progress and compliance.

  • Ensure adherence to company standards and document control procedures.

  • Train end-users on document management tools and best practices.

Your background

  • University degree (preferably in Information & Documentation) or proven experience in document control within engineering companies.

  • 5 years of relevant experience in engineering environments.

  • Proficiency in document management tools (InEight, SharePoint, Aconex, Documentum).

  • BIM - ACC knowledge (is a plus)

  • Strong command of English (written and spoken) and Spanish.

  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and communication abilities.
