Job Description
As a Document & Business Solutions (DBS)- Operations Supervisor, you are responsible for end-to-end oversight and execution of mail, scanning, and print operations. This role requires hands-on expert knowledge across the full operational lifecycle, so you can effectively manage and coach the production teams, ensure consistent SLA / quality / compliance delivery, and serve as operational production backup by stepping into day-to-day processing when coverage or volume requires.
You will work across DBS production environments/locations (4 within Buenos Aires area) as needed to meet business demand and customer commitments.
This is not a desk-only supervisory role—candidates must be able to lead and also perform end-to-end mail/print production activities as operational backup when required.
Job Responsibilities:
- End-to-end operations leadership for DBS services (mail, scanning/digitization, print production), ensuring daily workflow runs smoothly (capacity, performance, quality, escalations) and meeting DBS standards/SLAs.
- Customs/import management, owning relationships with customs agents and handling complex import situations.
- Hands-on production support, operating equipment (postage, X-ray, inserting, printing, scanning) and serving as backup by performing production work when needed.
- Quality control: enforce QC measures, address defects/rework with root-cause resolution.
- Controls, compliance, and safety: identify and correct non-compliant activities, ensure site Health & Safety, and safeguard confidential/personal information.
- Client/stakeholder management: build relationships, respond to service needs, and resolve complex inquiries/escalations (mail research, discrepancies).
- Operational management & continuous improvement: implement new services/projects, maintain local procedures, manage inventory/fulfillment and logistics, keep advanced tracking/reporting (Excel), and drive process improvements.
- Work coverage requirements: rotate across up to 4 Buenos Aires locations, Mon–Fri 9–6 with flexibility for coverage, 100% onsite, plus administrative/other assigned duties.
Required Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities:
- Proven end-to-end operations experience in high-volume print production environments, with the ability to step into production roles as needed.
- 5+ years’ experience in high volume professional printing.
- 10+ years’ experience in team management (or equivalent demonstrated leadership in operations).
- Intermediate English (spoken and written).
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), including comfort retrieving/sorting data in Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision, prioritize, and follow through in fast-paced production environments.
- Strong customer service mindset and professional stakeholder communication.
- Detail- and deadline-oriented; high standards for confidentiality and controls.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with mail environments (e.g., x-ray screening, chain-of-custody processes).
- Experience supporting multi-site operations and variable shift coverage.
- Experience with inventory control systems and operational KPI reporting.
