Location: 18300 Euclid St., Fountain Valley, CA 92708
Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 4 X 10 alternative work week
Compensation: $20 - $30 / hour.
ALL dependent on education, experience, credentials, location, nature of practice, schedule, and additional responsibilities.
Why We Want You!
We are seeking a dedicated Doctor's Assistant (Veterinary Assistant - VA) to join our Surgery department. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing high-quality care to animals, with a specific focus on surgery. As an integral part of our team, you will work closely with veterinarians, veterinary technicians and/or assistants, and other staff members to ensure the well-being of our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the veterinarian and Technical Support Team with physical examinations and consultations.
Facilitate appointments and drop-offs between the client, the doctor, and the Technical Support Team
Ability to communicate and interact compassionately, as well as educate clients about procedures and post-operative care
Managing medical records, reports, and correspondence
Must possess a good understanding of financial and medical charges and accurately charge for services
Ability to schedule patient appointments for consults, rechecks, and/or procedures as well as facilitate discharges in a fast -paced, high-stress environment
Ability to perform other duties that may be assigned by leadership

Compassionate care for our hospitalized patients
Ability to work successfully in a team environment
Restraining and assisting in patient exams and routine procedures
Obtain patient vitals
Maintain accurate and complete medical records
Maintain a clean work environment to maintain any infectious disease protocols, handle medical/biomedical and infectious waste appropriately
Qualifications:
2 years minimum Veterinary Medicine experience as a Veterinary Technician or Assistant (preferred, but not required)
Basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and common conditions
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards animals and their owners
Willingness to learn and grow in the veterinary field
