Job Description

The primary purpose of the Dock Specialist is to complete all receiving and delivery functions while maintaining a high level of customer service. The Specialist will operate under the direction of the Materials Manager and ensure that all daily work is complete for UCMC Receiving Dock.

Receiving & Delivery –

  • Utilize Lawson system and Mobile Supply Chain handheld scanners to log packages in real time as they are offloaded at the UCMC receiving dock.
  • Transport dock-logged packages to the receiving area and stage them in appropriate locations.
  • Operate pallet jacks to move skids from the dock apron to receiving areas.
  • Receive packages by reviewing packing slips, scanning barcodes, and entering shipping data into the system.
  • Maintain understanding of product Units of Measure (UOM) as they relate to Purchase Orders (POs) and receipts.
  • Attach delivery tickets to each package and stage in designated delivery lanes.
  • Use handheld scanners to load packages onto appropriate delivery carts.
  • Deliver packages to end users using a tow motor or manually with flatbed carts.
  • Complete delivery by scanning end-user badges and delivery tickets.
  • Obtain required delivery sign-off from end users at pickup or delivery.
  • Ensure immediate delivery of temperature-sensitive items (e.g., frozen tissue, refrigerated lab supplies).
  • May be required to drive the UC Health van for deliveries to Holmes.

Gas Cylinder Deliveries –

  • Transport empty gas cylinders from point-of-use locations back to the receiving dock storage room.
  • Deliver full cylinders from storage to designated areas to maintain appropriate inventory levels.

5S Dock Responsibilities -

  • Maintain dock organization standards, including equipment placement, package flow, and skid organization.
  • Perform daily 5S duties as assigned through team rotation.

Other Duties –

  • Complete additional tasks as assigned to support patient care needs.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service in all interactions and responsibilities.

Minimum Required: High School Diploma or GED | N/A | Minimum Required: 1 - 2 Years equivalent experience Preferred Degree: 3 - 5 Years equivalent experience
