Dock & Door Service Technician – Industrial Doors & Loading Dock Equipment

Malin is seeking a skilled Dock & Door Service Technician to support our customers by servicing industrial loading dock and door equipment at warehouse and distribution facilities. This field service role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, installing, and maintaining dock levelers, vehicle restraints, industrial doors, and related equipment.

The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined and experienced working with industrial equipment, commercial doors, or other mechanical field service systems.

This role offers the opportunity to work independently while providing essential support that keeps our customers’ operations running safely and efficiently.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform service calls at customer locations to inspect, diagnose, and repair dock and door equipment
  • Install and service dock levelers, industrial doors, vehicle restraints, locks, and safety equipment
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
  • Complete preventative maintenance and equipment inspections
  • Accurately document work performed using service reports and service summaries
  • Communicate findings and recommended repairs to customers
  • Assist with preparing service repair proposals when required
  • Maintain a professional appearance and represent Malin with excellent customer service
  • Follow all company and customer safety procedures

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience servicing industrial equipment, commercial doors, dock equipment, or similar mechanical systems preferred
  • Mechanical troubleshooting experience including hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
  • Experience installing or repairing equipment such as:
    • Dock levelers
    • Vehicle restraints
    • Overhead or sectional doors
    • High-speed doors
    • Commercial door systems
  • Ability to work independently and manage service schedules
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and equipment specifications
  • Solid problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate clearly with customers and internal teams
  • Commitment to safety and quality workmanship

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Work performed at customer facilities including warehouses, distribution centers, and industrial sites
  • Work may occur indoors or outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds
  • Work may involve climbing, kneeling, stooping, and working at heights
  • Exposure to moving mechanical equipment and industrial environments
