We are looking for a motivated individual to serve as an Office Associate at Murphysboro LSRC. This position keyboards a variety of complex documents, prepares MSR paperwork, and prepares and maintains current release lists of individuals in custody granted parole/mandatory supervised release. In addition, this position processes discharge and release lists, receives and directs incoming calls, and provided back up clerical functions to Clinical Services, Record Office and/or other areas. We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to serve in the role. We encourage all qualified applicants to apply.

Essential Functions

  • Keyboards complex charts, statistical reports, documents, forms, memoranda, investigation documents and letters including legal or terminology where an understanding of specialized terms is required to ensure clarity and accuracy.
  • Prepares MSR paperwork.
  • Prepares and maintains current release lists of individuals in custody granted parole/mandatory supervised release (MSR) and their effective release date.
  • Processes monthly discharge lists and weekly release lists and verifies they are mailed to appropriate Field Services Office, Record Office Supervisor, Prisoner Review Board and data input operators.
  • Receives and directs incoming calls and handles daily slips from individuals in custody.
  • Provides backup clerical functions to Clinical Services, Record Office, and/or other areas.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school AND two (2) years of office experience.
  • Requires the ability to keyboard 45 words per minute.

Conditions of Employment

  • Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
  • Requires ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs by an employee, regardless of position held, is prohibited.
  • Required to utilize digital technology, tools, platforms, and processes in managing and supporting various digital enhancements for greater efficiency, productivity, and digital transformation efforts within the department.
