Our Executive Liability Division underwrites Directors’ and Officers’ Liability Insurance, Employment Practices Liability Insurance, and Fiduciary Liability Insurance for public, private and not for profit companies. We are looking for a D&O Asset Management Underwriter to market, underwrite and produce profitable business. The position will entail marketing and underwriting new and renewal business in accordance with Company objectives and policies.

To support this, employees in this role located near the Schaumburg, IL office or other Great American office locations are expected to be on-site four days a week, with the flexibility to work one day remotely. The position is open to remote for individuals who are not located near an office. The job title and job grade will depend on the successful applicant's level of experience.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for an assigned book of business in which account information is evaluated, underwritten, and priced within authority guidelines.

  • Risk selection/rejection, retention, growth, and profitability within scope of authority and per divisional objectives.

  • The underwriter is expected to perform financial statement analysis of prospective risks and make recommendations on pricing and terms consistent with underwriting guidelines.

  • Service complex multi-line risks

  • Communicates directly with Brokers to develop and maintain strong relationships.

  • Conduct marketing visits out of state.

  • Promptly issue quotes, policies, and endorsements.

  • Understand, compare, and contrast policy language both internal and competitor forms.

  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Generally, 0 to 5 years of insurance, asset management, financial intuition or related experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree is required, with a focus in Finance, Accounting or other Business-related field.

  • High level of organizational skills, and the ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to leverage excellent customer relationships, and to provide opportunities for marketing products and services.

  • Must be able to travel as needed and work autonomously.

$70,000.00 -$90,000.00
