General Description and Classification Standards:
This position serves the citizens of Atlanta by providing direct support to the Pollution Control Monitor Senior and operates as a team member of the Stormwater Compliance Post Development Team. This position is responsible for inspecting post development stormwater structures, green infrastructure, and stormwater best management practices to ensure they meet the requirements of the City’s Stormwater Management Plan, NPDES Permit, the First Amended Consent Decree; and provide overall compliance support in accordance with the U.S. Clean Water Act. This position requires working outdoors in inclement weather, year-round in challenging conditions such as traveling by foot through areas with no developed access.
Supervision Received:
Most of the work in the position requires working with a team, some tasks require working independently and providing feedback to Supervisor and Management. This position normally receives guidance regarding overall mission, scheduling, unusual priorities, etc.

Knowledge of concepts, regulations, principals, and procedures related to stormwater compliance, post development, green infrastructure and inspections as necessary in the completion of daily responsibilities.

Ability to keep abreast of any changes in policy, methods, and operations, as they pertain to departmental inspections, operations and activities.
Ability to utilize and understand computer applications and techniques as necessary for database management and the completion of daily assignments.
Skilled in effectively communicating with management, team members and the public.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a Science related field (Biology, Environmental Management, Forestry, etc.).
Licensures and Certifications:
Must possess a valid Georgia Drivers’ License at the time of appointment. License must remain valid while in this classification.
Must be able to obtain and maintain status as a Code Enforcement Agent, as certified by the Atlanta Police Department.
Must obtain Level II Georgia Soil and Water Commission Specialist Certification within 6 months of employment.
Work Environment:
Requires availability outside of normal work hours due to major spills and/or environmental issues. Requires office and field work.
Lifting Requirements:
Physical lifting and maneuvering of storm/sewer manhole lids are required to perform the job successfully.
