The Administrative Specialist I position is within the DMV Liability Insurance Unit and is responsible for reviewing and interpreting customer case files, preparing appropriate correspondence, and entering civil penalties and restoration fees when an insurance lapse occurs.
The selected candidate will provide assistance to North Carolina citizens regarding complex registration and insurance-related case files, including cases involving incorrect information, insurance penalties, and correspondence submitted by customers. They will also research and respond to customer inquiries; carefully review fees associated with license plate renewals; opening and closing cash drawers; and accurately balance cash receipts at the end of each workday.
The Administrative Specialist I candidate will process the required forms, approve refunds, and post checks to insurance files on a daily basis to clear or update customer accounts. Additional duties include performing insurance verifications and responding to inquiries from License Plate Agency (LPA) representatives through email and faxed documentation.
The position requires the use of mainframe applications, including STARS, LITES, and SADLS, to research, process, and maintain customer and insurance-related records.
Salary Grade and Salary Range: NC08 $39,244 - 68,679

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
