STARTING SALARY: $2,135.95 Bi-Weekly. (In accordance with current spending restrictions, an internal promotion into the position will be filled at the minimum of the pay grade or up to 5% of the employee’s current rate, whichever is higher.)

• Manages special projects and monitoring activities to ensure they support division strategy. Analyzes problems, questions, and issues; identifies, studies, and evaluates pertinent factors. Defines project scope, including overall goals, standards for determining project success, deliverables, and timeframe. Identifies resources required to complete the project. Develop project action/business plans.
• Organizes, coordinates, and serves on special committees or other project teams. Identifies and communicates the mission of the designated project, program group. Determines tasks to be completed in support of the mission. Effectively facilitates meetings to share ideas, evaluates progress and makes appropriate decisions. Regularly attends an actively participates in group meetings.
• Provides oversight and supervises Detention’s training and youth engagement; act as a liaison with office of Talent Leadership & culture; track training records for headquarters staff and assist with regional training; develop training curriculum; serves as the liaison for the Trauma Inform Care Program.
• Provide direct oversight of the Detention’s Long Range Program Plan, Legislative Budget Request, Strategic Plan, and legislative bill analysis as necessary. Maintain thorough knowledge to include activities, issues, events, potential problems, and updates to ensure timeframes are met.
• Coordinate with various departments and participates on Intent to Negotiate (ITNs). Request for Proposals, and other contractual activities.
• Detention Statewide Monitoring and Quality Improvement (MQI) liaison responsible for the review and draft of annual compliance reports, standards, and workpapers for Detention Services.
• Oversight of the statewide Behavior Management System (BMS), the Life Skills Facilitator Workshops and youth sessions, Program Monitoring Management, review and approval of Outcome-Based Corrective Action Plans (OBCAP), and the Leadership Mentoring Program.
• Act as the correspondence representative. Review and process assignments assigned by the Assistant Secretary and received by correspondence. Develop and review outgoing correspondence; prepare newsletters and other reports.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Due to the nature of the work, overnight travel is required. Travel may be with little to no notice at the discretion of management. A valid and current State of Florida Driver's License is required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Knowledgeable in Department of Juvenile Justice policies and procedures.
• Possessing the ability to communicate well verbally and in writing.
• Understand computer technology and systems applications of Word, Excel, PDF, and other functional software programs.
• Proficient in the use and application of the telephone, copier, and other equipment.
• Ability to travel.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, plus four years of progressively responsible experience in detention, prevention, probation, residential, or another human services field or equivalent combination of education and experience, such as a bachelor’s degree plus ten years of relevant human services experience.

Experience with Word, Excel, PDF/Adobe, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.

Licenses suspended or revoked for any reason, work permits (Business purpose/Employment/education only licenses) and some types of restricted licenses are not acceptable. Licenses that have Corrective Lenses Restrictions are acceptable, provided the driver wears corrective lenses.
