Job Description

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

To design and deliver engaging DJ and music experiences as part of the extracurricular programme, while contributing to the vibrant creative and entertainment life of the school.

This is a part-time and on-call role scheduled over two days per week, after 16:00.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Disk Jockey & D’J Teacher will:

  • Design and deliver dynamic and interactive DJ classes for students aged 14 to 18
  • Create an inspiring and inclusive learning environment that fosters creativity and self-expression
  • Lead the classroom and deliver well-structured and engaging lessons
  • Introduce students to DJ techniques, music mixing, and digital production tools
  • Support student progression through hands-on practice and performance opportunities (e.g. school events)
  • Maintain DJ equipment and ensure a safe and professional setup
  • Other tasks as required by the management

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Qualification
Required

• University degree or equivalent professional experience
• Basic training or certification related to DJing, audio engineering, or music

Preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in radio broadcasting, music production, or related field
• Recognised qualification in DJing, sound engineering, or music technology

Experience

Required
• Some teaching or training experience
• Practical experience as a DJ or in live performance

Preferred
• Previous experience in an international school setting
• Experience in the music or entertainment industry

Prior Skills and Knowledge
• Fluent English (spoken and written)
• Good knowledge of DJ equipment and audio software
• Basic ICT literacy (audio tools, streaming software, standard applications)

Additional assets
• Fluent French
• Knowledge of music theory or production tools

You work effectively both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility, initiative, and professionalism. You are organised, able to prioritise tasks, and remain calm and solution-oriented under pressure. You bring energy, creativity, and a passion for sharing music and performance with students.
