DIVISION: Academy or Community Living

REPORTS TO: Operations Manager

SUPERVISES: None

POSITION SUMMARY: The Divisional Trainer plays a critical role in ensuring high-quality, consistent, and compliant service delivery within their assigned division at Behavioral Health Allies (BHA). This position is responsible for the development, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of onboarding and ongoing training specific to the division’s service model, regulatory requirements, and operational needs.

Unlike the Company Trainer, who supports training across all divisions, the Divisional Trainer is embedded within a single division and serves as a hands-on training leader, coach, and mentor for division staff. This role ensures employees are competent, confident, and aligned with evidence-based practices, safety expectations, and BHA operational standards.

The Divisional Trainer directly supports employee onboarding, 30/60/90-day development, fidelity to practice, and ongoing skill-building—ensuring staff are equipped to deliver compassionate, ethical, and effective care while advancing BHA’s Core Values: Empower Through Innovation, Integrity in Action, Advocate with Passion, Leaders in Learning, Compassionate Care Always, and Sustainable Growth, Lasting Impact.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, Special Education, Social Work, Human Services, ABA, or related field preferred (equivalent experience considered)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in behavioral health, special education, residential services, or developmental disability services
  • Demonstrated experience in staff training, onboarding, coaching, or supervision
  • Knowledge of ABA-informed practices, behavior support strategies, trauma-informed care, and crisis prevention models preferred

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Empower Through Innovation

  • Develop and implement division-specific onboarding and training curricula
  • Adapt training materials to reflect division needs, client profiles, and operational realities
  • Identify opportunities to improve onboarding, training delivery, and staff competency systems

Integrity in Action

  • Ensure all training aligns with BHA policies, licensing standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain accurate and timely training records, certifications, and compliance documentation
  • Model professionalism, accountability, and ethical conduct at all times

Advocate with Passion

  • Train staff to deliver safe, respectful, person-centered services
  • Reinforce dignity, rights, and advocacy for individuals served
  • Serve as a resource when training gaps impact quality of care or client outcomes

  • Lead division-specific onboarding, refresher training, and role-based development
  • Conduct competency assessments, observations, and fidelity checks
  • Provide coaching and feedback to strengthen staff performance and confidence
  • Support mentorship and apprenticeship-style learning for new employees

Compassionate Care, Always

  • Embed trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and relationship-based practices into all training
  • Support staff emotional regulation, de-escalation skills, and confidence in high-stress situations
  • Promote a positive learning environment that values growth and psychological safety

Sustainable Growth, Lasting Impact

  • Support scalable training systems that sustain quality during growth
  • Analyze training outcomes and recommend improvements
  • Collaborate with Operations, HR, Clinical, and Company Training teams to align training with organizational goals

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Division Specific Onboarding & Development

  • Manage and support 30/60/90-day onboarding check-ins for division staff
  • Ensure completion of all required initial and ongoing training
  • Coordinate role-specific training aligned with division workflows and expectations

Fidelity & Quality Assurance

  • Conduct routine fidelity checks and observations
  • Identify skill gaps and partner with supervisors on corrective coaching plans
  • Support retraining and remediation efforts as needed

Hands-On Staff Support

  • Provide real-time coaching and modeling within division settings when appropriate
  • Support staff during escalated situations within scope of training role and approved systems
  • Assist with post-incident debriefs and targeted retraining

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with Operations Managers and supervisors to align training with performance expectations
  • Partner with HR and Company Training to ensure consistency and compliance
  • Communicate training progress, risks, and needs to leadership

OTHER DUTIES

  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned to support organizational initiatives
  • Attend required meetings, trainings, and professional development sessions
  • Support cross-functional initiatives related to quality improvement and staff development
  • Uphold BHA’s mission and values in all work performed

Starting Pay: Our compensation is competitive within the market. The minimum rate for this position begins at $22.00 per hour with your final offer based on a combination of your education, relevant experience, and overall qualifications.
