Summary:

Our award-winning client is seeking a Division Manager in the Manufacturing industry that will lead the sales efforts to sustain business performance by adding and retaining new customers to achieve established revenue goals. The Division Manager will introduce products and be able to educate customers and sales staff, therefore excellent communication skills are essential. This position requires a self-motivated, goal oriented and dependable individual to create and maintain on-going relationships. A sense of confidence and a positive, friendly attitude are important. The Division Manager must have the vision, drive, and interpersonal skills to succeed.

Responsibilities

• Gaining market share from our competitors (goal of double digit sales growth).
• National account management including account assignment, in-person sales calls, and prospecting and developing new national accounts.
• Develop a short and long term sales growth plan.
• Analyze sales statistics to determine business growth potential.
• Seeks out and targets new customers and new sales opportunities, initiates action plan (“who”, does “what”, “when”, “impact”) to approach and secure new business for the Company.
• Develops and/or maintains and improves business relations with all customers.
• Oversees all hiring, training and firing of direct sales personnel.
• Plans and directs the work of sales staff.
• Overall management of inside and outside sales staff, Distributors, and OEM’s, including recruitment, training and development, motivation, and evaluation.
• Coordinates sales operations with all other departments/divisions of the Company (Marketing, Engineering, Purchasing, Inside Sales).
• Recommends new products for development.
• Writes weekly trip/sales reports and emails to the President.
• Preparation and presentation of the annual budget and sales plan, including sales quotas and expense budgets.
• Management of account qualification and assignments including evaluating prospect accounts for sales force contact.
• Design and implementation of all sales promotions.
• Administer, manage and review field sales force and distributor commission plans.
• Travel of up to 50% is required.
• Provides the overall leadership for the business unit and ensures achievement of revenue and profit objectives in addition to long-term growth of the business.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Directly supervises 3-5 employees in the Sales Department.
• Carries out supervisor responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
• Clear and concise communication with employees regarding expectations and performance.
• Obtain training for employees per individual job descriptions and/or serve as trainer to ensure employees are properly prepared to perform their job duties efficiently and safely.
• Submit said training records to HR for personnel file and training records.
• Approve/deny requests for time off from employees and submit requests to HR in a timely manner.
• Responsible for maintaining vacation schedule for employees so as to ensure appropriate staffing levels during peak periods.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with internal gear pumps, external gear pumps, and positive displacement pumps for the OEM and process market.
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Business required.
• Advanced degree desired.
• One to three years experience in management and five to seven years related sales/pump experience is required.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software is also required.
• Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
• This person will have excellent written and oral communication skills to lead, persuade and motivate, complemented by analytical and planning abilities.
