Job Description

Position Purpose:

Execute Material Requirement Planning (MRP) and JIT/KanBan for Key, common usage purchased parts for all division plants. Responsible and accountable for effectively managing supplier and internal manufacturing coordination of engineering changes, minimization of divisional obsolescence, and safety stock/lot sizing analysis. Maintains Division Planning Bills.

Essential Functions:

  1. Execute MRP with precision to sustain availability of parts at all Division plants while minimizing inventory investment. Provide vendors with accurate, near term Purchase Order releases.
  2. Consolidate Division purchased parts forecasts by vendor, and update each supplier with a six-month forecast, each month.
  3. Maintain MRP system integrity through management of CA-KBM, item master planning factors to provide optimum inventory planning for assigned SPD programs.
  4. Manage engineering changes (ECNs) to facilitate timely material transitions and prevent obsolescence for all plants as required

Education and Training:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Accounting or other related field preferred.
  • APICS certification (CPIM) and QAD experience preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in materials management in a manufacturing environment using MRPII/ERP software. Should have 2 years of experience as a material planner or shop scheduler.

Physical Demands

  • Frequent sitting, work at computer for extended periods of time.

Environmental Conditions:

  • Minimal exposure to R&D lab and manufacturing setting.
  • Office setting.

Behavioral Traits:

  • Excellent analytical abilities, keen attention to detail, and ability to quickly interpret MRP planning reports and complete knowledge of creating computer spreadsheets.
