Job Description

The ME Foam manager is responsible for several complete process and associated development projects. He manages a team of PML and Process Engineers

He/She is responsible for overseeing and executing the complete process / projects from initial designs through to production and postproduction support for sourced automotive Foam systems.

Main Duties/Activities

Budget

• Responsible for building the manufacturing budget in accordance with the global Manufacturing Manager and ensuring its arbitration, application & monthly follow-up reporting

Standards

• Maintaining the Standards up-to date in the key foam process, through Process Books creation and updates, and providing useful tools for knowledge transfer and audit possibilities
• Benchmarking current and new suppliers to have state of the art process proposals

Innovation Roadmap

• Elaboration ME Foam roadmap elaboration and ensuring the proper support on the projects composing the roadmap to meet the expected savings and deployment milestones, gathering the proper resources

Plant support

• Ensuring that proper process are/will be applied according to products needs to meet technical and economical needs
• Facilitates selection of process that achieve best possible tradeoffs of cost, timing, innovation and performance by coordinating the efforts of the manufacturing team in providing alternative process solutions, analyses, justifications and recommendations at the concept state
• Contributes to manufacturing performance and plant support by assisting in the resolution of production or quality safety issues associated with the process

Program support

• Ensures that PML & Process Engineers are fulfilling all program requirements through WP and that the solutions meet all the production requirements by giving the team clear and complete directions regarding process selections and measuring outputs

Global management

• Keeps its team informed about all relevant information; he/she responsible for managing all Human Resources of their team including their professional development, annual performance reviews and participation in recruitment

Specific Responsibilities

• Conducts performance reviews of each member of the manufacturing team under his/her responsibility and provides appropriate recommendations to the Global Manufacturing Engineering Manager
• Recommends and executes organizational changes to maintain appropriate staffing levels
• Coordinates work and information between all functions involved in the projects (structure, specialists, program management, plant)

Skills and Know-how

• Engineer or applicable work experience
• Minimum 10 years experience in automotive engineering field
• Extensive track record in managing manufacturing team
• Good communications skills
• Previous experience in launching major projects / process (or at least key process) into production preferred
• Strong knowledge of automotive specific manufacturing process (example: automation, sewing, PFMEA,, etc…)
• Strong background in foaming process preferred
• English advanced level
• Flexible to travel up to 50% of the working time
