Job Description

The Department of Dermatology at UT Southwestern Medical Center in partnership with Children’s Health Dallas are seeking an accomplished and visionary academic dermatologist. The qualified candidate will serve as Division Director of Pediatric Dermatology at Children’s Health Dallas and lead the development of an academic Division of Pediatric Dermatology at UT Southwestern. Once the division is established will serve as the inaugural, founding UTSW Chief of Pediatric Dermatology. This individual will lead efforts to build a robust, innovative, and sustainable pediatric dermatology program that meets the diverse and growing needs of children and families throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and the surrounding North Texas region. This position will be provided the resources needed to support an ambitious and forward-looking vision aimed at building a nationally recognized program of excellence.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape the future of pediatric dermatology at UT Southwestern and Children’s Health Dallas by advancing excellence in clinical care, education, and research, while fostering a collaborative environment for faculty, trainees, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and growth of a comprehensive pediatric dermatology program at UT Southwestern and Children’s Health Dallas.
  • Provide strategic direction and oversight for clinical services, ensuring delivery of high-quality, accessible, and patient-centered care.
  • Recruit, mentor, and retain exceptional faculty in partnership with the Chair of Dermatology.
  • Collaborate with institutional partners, including Children’s Health Dallas, to expand clinical services.
  • Champion educational efforts, including training of residents, fellows, and medical students.
  • Advance research and scholarship in pediatric dermatology, with support for faculty and trainees pursuing academic projects.

Qualifications


  • MD or MD/PhD (or equivalent) from an accredited medical school is required.

  • Board certification in Dermatology and Pediatric Dermatology.

  • Must qualify for an unrestricted Texas medical license.

  • Demonstrated record of leadership, program development, and mentorship in an academic setting.
