This position plans, directs, organizes, coordinates, and evaluates the overall operations and case processing activities of the Pima County Consolidated Justice Court and Ajo Justice Court. Directs the operations and case processing functions. Under the guidance of the Presiding Judge of the Pima County Superior Court and the Deputy Court Administrator of Pima County Consolidated Justice Court and Ajo Justice Court, anticipates, prevents and resolves various issues relating to court operations. May represent or serve as the Deputy Court Administrator, in their absence when requested.
This is a classified position that reports to the Deputy Court Administrator, Pima County Consolidated Justice Court. This position performs duties under limited supervision and directs and supervises the work of court operations; case processing managers, supervisors and work units for the Pima County Consolidated Justice Court and the Ajo Justice Court.
Hiring Salary Range $93,392 - $101,000

· The position is in pay grade 18, which may constitute a promotional opportunity for current county staff. Promotional increase will be determined at the time of offer.

Essential Duties&Functions:
Direct the daily operation and work activities of assigned units and resolve issues related to the planning of the Court's calendar.
Manage theoperations and case processingunitsbydirecting managers and supervisors how to set priorities;effectivelyallocateresources andstafftoworkload assignments.
Problem-solve issuesregardingAGAVEcase-tracking softwarefunctionality and/or data entry made by users internal and external to the courtVerifycontinuousquality assurance of data and work withthe Court’sinformation technologyfunctiontoidentifyoptions and resolutions, whenappropriate
Address case processing issues when the Deputy Court Administrator is absent; resolve operational/AGAVEsoftwareissues, attend meetings, andrespond to requests fromSuperior Courtmanagement, judicial staff, and the public.
Conduct special projects to include studies of caseprocessing,surveys ofdivisionprocedures,statistical data gathering, and AGAVEsoftwareissues; enlistappropriate stafftoassistwith projects.
Problem-solve any issues related to technologyand softwareaffecting case processingand court operationsCollaborate with Court’s Information Technology Support Division: present request,suggestionsand ideas for innovation.Assistwith implementation of upgrades; seek training for employees and management to keep skills current
Conduct periodic reviews of the data entry and associated activities tomaintainaccurate statistical information for the creation of periodic reports for the Deputy Court Administratorand other applicable entities
Monitor the quality of customer service provided by staff, for both internal and externalcourtcustomers.Identifyproblem areas and find solutions
Propose, develop, communicate, and evaluate policies, procedures, andobjectivesto enhance the effectiveness and productivity of the entirecase processing function of the justice courts Interpret and applyappropriate statutes, rules, and operating procedures.
Assistin the preparation of theapplicablebudgetsand monitoring expenditures such asequipmentpurchasesand the ordering of supplies.
Participate in theselectionof new hires, transfers, and/or promotions.
Direct development oftraining plans and materials to support the cross-training ofoperations,caseprocessingand courtroom supportstaff and inmaintainingtheir knowledge and skills as technology impacts processes.
Support employee training, performance goals, and appraisals, and ensure units perform work accurately, timely, andin accordance withprotocol.
Guide and oversee the work of the Training and Education Specialist to assure the applicability of technical skills training programs
Approve staff requests for time off andverifyelectronic time sheets for payroll.Assure adequate coverage for all functions
Ensure superior customer service, integrity, and commitment to innovation, efficiency, and fiscal responsibility.
Address the needs of the Ajo Justice Court, ensure support and guidance as requested and needed
Keep informed of current issues, best practices, and trends to ensure efficient and effective Courtoperations.
