
Inova Children’s is seeking a physician leader to serve as the Chief of the Division of Medical Genetics. The Chief of Medical Genetics will lead a multidisciplinary team that includes clinical geneticists, genetic counselors, and dedicated support staff. The division provides comprehensive genetic evaluation, diagnostic testing, and management for patients across the lifespan—from prenatal and pediatric to adult genetics. The role is sign-on bonus and relocation assistance eligible.

Medical Staff Credentialing: Successful completion of credentialing for Medical Staff membership and appropriate clinical privileges sufficient to perform all required services

Evaluation and diagnosis of children and adults with genetic, genomic and metabolic disorders in an outpatient and inpatient setting.
Collaboration with specialists in neonatology, neurology, cardiology, oncology, developmental pediatrics and other pediatric specialties as needed.
Collaboration with adult specialists to support the complex genetic needs of adult populations within neuroscience, pulmonology, endocrinology, cardiology, prenatal and several other adult service lines.
Lead coordinated quality and practice improvement efforts to ensure best practices in clinical genetics, diagnostic interpretation, and genetic counseling.
Practice in collaboration with the Director of Genetic Counseling, leading a team of counselors and genetic counselor assistants.
Patients seen in Fairfax, Virginia (proximity to Inova L.J. Murphy Children’s Hospital/Inova Fairfax Hospital), and via telemedicine.
Support learners as part of Inova Fairfax Pediatric Residency Program.
Faculty appointment opportunity at University of Virginia Medical School Inova Campus.
Education: Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy degree from an accredited institution. Board eligible or board certified in Pediatrics and Clinical Medical Genetics
Experience: successful completion of pediatric residency program.
Licensure: Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Virginia.
Payer Credentialing: Ability to successfully complete the credentialing process by third-party payors and Ability to enrolled as a CMS Medicare/Medicaid payor
