At Ozcare, we're committed to supporting older Australians to live with dignity, independence and purpose. We are currently seeking a passionate and creative Diversional Therapist to join our Residential Aged Care team in a permanent part-time capacity, working 60 hours per fortnight across four days per week.

In this rewarding role, you'll design and deliver engaging lifestyle and leisure programs that enhance the physical, emotional, social, spiritual and psychological wellbeing of our residents. You'll have the opportunity to create meaningful experiences, foster social connection and make a genuine impact on the lives of older people every day.

Your Role

As our Diversional Therapist, you will:

• Develop, implement and evaluate innovative individual and group lifestyle programs
• Assess residents' interests, abilities and goals to create meaningful activities
• Facilitate therapeutic, recreational and social engagement opportunities
• Coordinate visits and activities delivered by community groups, entertainers and volunteers
• Collaborate closely with residents, families and the multidisciplinary care team
• Maintain accurate documentation and activity plans
• Assist with outings, special events and community engagement opportunities
• Contribute to a positive, inclusive and stimulating environment for residents
• Support continuous quality improvement initiatives across the service.

About You

To be successful, you will bring:

• Certificate IV in Diversional Therapy (or equivalent qualification)
• Experience developing and delivering lifestyle programs for older people
• A genuine passion for enhancing the wellbeing of aged care residents
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
• Sound computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications
• An understanding of person-centred care principles and continuous improvement practices.

Essential Requirements

• Current National Police Check (valid within the past 3 years) or willingness to obtain one
• Current Queensland Driver Licence
• Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
• Current Influenza Vaccination (and willingness to obtain annual influenza vaccination)
• Minimum one dose of COVID-19 vaccination received previously (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role.
