Job Description

The Manager of SCUBA Diving Operations is responsible for leading and coordinating all diving activities across aquaculture sites. This role ensures safe, efficient, and compliant underwater operations that support the health and sustainability of marine farming infrastructure. The manager oversees a team of divers, manages equipment and logistics, and liaises with cross-functional teams to align diving operations with broader aquaculture goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise the scuba diving team across multiple aquaculture sites.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures for underwater inspections, maintenance, and emergency response.
  • Ensure compliance with occupational diving regulations and company safety standards.
  • Coordinate scheduling, training, and certification of dive personnel.
  • Oversee maintenance and inventory of diving equipment and vessels.
  • Collaborate with site managers, health & safety teams, and marine engineers to support operational needs.
  • Analyze dive reports and inspection data to inform infrastructure planning and risk mitigation.
  • Manage budgets, procurement, and vendor relationships related to diving operations.
  • Support environmental monitoring and fish health initiatives through underwater assessments.

Qualifications:

  • Commercial Dive Certificate-equivalent PADI open water diver or NAUI scuba diver, AOW certificate.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in diving, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of aquaculture systems, marine safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Valid First Aid, CPR, and Occupational Diving certifications.
  • Experience with underwater video, inspection tools, and reporting software preferred.
  • Familiarity with OSHA 29 CFR 1910 Subpart T and ADCI.

Working Conditions:

  • Marine and coastal environments; frequent travel between aquaculture sites.
  • Exposure to variable weather and sea conditions.
  • On-call availability for emergency dive operations or infrastructure issues.
