Job Description

Act as liaison to the appropriate corporate and division departments providing feedback and direction pertaining to Multicultural Merchandising and/or operational plans. Identify local multicultural products and program opportunities. Work with division leadership to identify multicultural needs. Provide market-based insights to corporate and division departments. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.
- Become a division expert regarding the local Multicultural competitive landscape, merchandising trends, pricing and assortment within the division and provide necessary feedback to division and corporate Merchandising

- Ensure that division Kompass or Set Teams are following the corresponding Multicultural demographic store roadmap for targeted stores

- Provide feedback using local insights on ad and display plans across all departments in targeted stores during development of corporate Merchandising Plan

- Provide/review weekly or period progress with Corporate Sr. Category Manager, Multicultural; Request any G.O. Merchandising or Operations assistance

- Lead and train store associates in the proper use of designated store display space for Multicultural Merchandising (special or seasonal)

- Lead the education of the Multicultural Playbook and Ethnic Holiday Guide at division level

- Report Multicultural results on period, quarterly and yearly basis; provide local insights based on sales and market trends to division and corporate teams

- Align with Marketing to identify relevant multicultural community partners and help execute local events

- Ensure effective department implementation and execution of Multicultural merchandising and operational plans are followed, as directed by respective division and corporate departments

- Identify, manage and develop partnerships with local/regional product suppliers and educate them on the vendor process

- Provide feedback to corporate Merchandising to ensure product mix that meets/exceeds our customers' expectations

- Maintain and support all food safety and sanitation best practices

- Work with stores in the achievement of the Shrink glide path; apply tools to manage this area

- Provide feedback to store leaders and district manager, on the strengths and developmental opportunities of associates in departments that are essential to multicultural customers

- Must be able to perform the essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
Minimum

- Any experience in multicultural store(s)

- 2+ years of store leadership experience

- Proficient in Microsoft Office

- Excellent analytical and follow-up skills

- Ability to achieve objectives through others

- Proven interpersonal skills with ability to communicate / work effectively with diverse groups

- Demonstrated leadership skills

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Excellent oral/written communication skills

Desired

- Bachelor's Degree

- Any experience in stores that highly index to African American, Asian and/or Latin American customers
