2020 Companies is now hiring for a remote District Manager of Field Merchandising and Installation

Salary $46,800 annually + up to $5,200 annual bonus, paid quarterly (total earning potential up to $52,000 annually).

The District Manager of Field Merchandising/Installation is responsible for leading and developing a team of Field Merchandising/Installation Representatives (FMIRs) within an assigned geographic territory. This role is accountable for driving operational excellence, ensuring successful execution of client merchandising programs, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction, and fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.

The District Manager serves as the primary field leader for their territory by coaching, mentoring, and supporting field representatives while ensuring execution aligns with client expectations, company standards, and operational KPIs. This position partners closely with the National Field Leader to execute strategic initiatives, improve operational efficiencies, optimize workforce planning, and develop a high-performing field organization.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Directly lead, coach, mentor, and develop a team of Field Merchandising Representatives
  • Conduct one-on-one meetings, accountability reviews, coaching sessions, and recognition as needed
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement
  • Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, and retain top field talent
  • Identify high-potential employees and develop succession plans
  • Administer performance counseling, corrective action, recognition, and terminations in accordance with company policies
  • Lead team meetings, conference calls, and training sessions
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for field representatives within the assigned district

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure all client work is completed accurately, on time, and within established service level agreements
  • Monitor daily execution to ensure all scheduled work is accepted, completed, and documented appropriately
  • Oversee scheduling, staffing levels, workload balancing, and territory coverage
  • Partner with field representatives to optimize travel routes and maximize productivity
  • Monitor payroll, timecards, mileage, expenses, and travel compliance
  • Assist with field coverage by completing store visits or merchandising projects when business needs require
  • Maintain proper market headcount to support current and future client demands

Client Execution & Merchandising

  • Ensure consistent execution of merchandising standards, installations, resets, planograms, display maintenance, and break-fix services
  • Conduct field audits to verify execution quality and compliance with client directives
  • Ensure representatives accurately complete surveys, photographs, reporting, and required documentation using company systems
  • Monitor quality metrics and proactively resolve execution issues before client escalation
  • Partner with retailers and store leadership to maintain strong working relationships
  • Ensure all representatives represent the company professionally while in stores

Performance Management

  • Establish clear expectations and performance goals for all field representatives
  • Monitor productivity, utilization, quality scores, completion rates, attendance, communication, and client satisfaction
  • Utilize reporting, dashboards, and analytics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Develop action plans to improve underperforming markets or representatives
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, client requirements, safety standards, and operational procedures

Training & Development

  • Deliver onboarding and ongoing training for new and existing field representatives
  • Coach representatives on merchandising best practices, installation techniques, technology platforms, client expectations, and communication standards
  • Ensure completion of all required certifications and training programs
  • Identify individual development opportunities and create coaching plans that improve performance and career growth

Strategic Leadership

  • Partner with the National Field Leader to execute company initiatives and operational priorities
  • Provide feedback on field processes, technology, staffing models, and operational improvements
  • Support implementation of new clients, programs, systems, and field processes
  • Participate in business planning, forecasting, workforce planning, and territory optimization
  • Recommend improvements that increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction

Communication & Collaboration

  • Maintain consistent communication with field representatives, internal departments, clients, and retail partners
  • Provide timely updates regarding field performance, staffing challenges, escalations, and operational risks
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Recruiting, Operations, Training, Payroll, Human Resources, Client Services, and Leadership teams
  • Deliver business updates, district summaries, and performance reporting to the National Field Leader

Customer & Client Satisfaction

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, retailers, and internal stakeholders
  • Resolve customer, retailer, and client concerns quickly and professionally
  • Ensure field execution consistently meets or exceeds client expectations
  • Promote a customer-first culture throughout the district

Qualifications:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; Associate's degree or equivalent experience considered

Experience

  • 5–7 years of retail merchandising, field operations, or multi-unit leadership experience
  • 1-2+ years of direct people leadership experience managing remote field teams
  • Experience hiring, coaching, developing, and managing employee performance
  • Experience supporting multiple retail locations and large geographic territories
  • Experience with merchandising, planograms, fixture installations, and retail execution preferred

Travel Requirements

  • Ability to travel throughout assigned territory up to 25% of the time
  • Overnight travel may be required
  • Valid driver's license with reliable transportation and state-required automobile insurance
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as business needs require
    • Scheduled Monday – Friday 8:30 am - 5:30 pm - less 1hr break
    • Ability to be on-call and responsive one scheduled weekend every 4 weeks
