The North Carolina Forest Service is designated as an emergency response Division and is a team of professionals who provide forest protection, resource management and environmental education to the residents and landowners of North Carolina through a variety of programs. The NC Forest Service provides services to the 100 counties in North Carolina.
The primary job functions of this position are:
Environmental exposures are adverse weather, forest pests, hunters, intense heat, dust and smoke. Work hours are typically 8-5, Mon-Fri. Some work functions require evening, holiday and/or weekend work. Wildfire & disaster/emergency response functions require readiness 24/7. Some overnight travel required for emergency response and/or training.
Residency will be discussed at the time of interview.
Duty Station Location: 221 Airport Road Fayetteville, NC
Employee must operate a state vehicle and have a valid North Carolina Class A Commercial Driver’s License. Either possession of a current Commercial Driver’s License on the date of hire, OR the North Carolina Commercial Driver’s License must be obtained through completion of on-the-job training or employer sponsored training and all requirements mandated by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (Federal Registry 49 CFR 383) within 360 days of the date of hire.
Pre-employment drug testing is required for this position.
Recruitment Range: $35,596 - $62,294

Necessary Special Qualifications:
May require current certification by the EPA as a Type I, II, III or Universal technician as required by 40 CFR part 82, subpart F.
