We are looking for an exceptional District Manager to join VF in order to manage all VF stores based in Madrid, Andalucía and Portugal The position is based in Madrid
Let’s talk about the role!
The District Manager leads a portfolio of stores of multiple brands, to deliver outstanding commercial results, operational excellence, and an exceptional customer experience. They serve as the primary leader for Store Managers, ensuring strong execution of retail standards, people development, brand expression, and continuous improvement. This role acts as the critical connector between store teams and headquarters, driving accountability, engagement, and performance across all KPIs.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Leadership and performance management
Lead Store Managers to deliver sales, profitability, productivity, and KPI objectives across the
district.
Analyze performance trends, identify risks and opportunities, and implement action plans to drive
results.
Conduct structured store visits focused on coaching, performance assessment, and execution quality.
Lead focused performance recovery plans in underperforming stores, providing hands on support and coaching until sustainable improvement is achieved.
Translate performance data into clear, practical insights for Store Managers, linking commercial results to behaviours and actions in store, ensuring high standards of customer experience.
Operational Excellence and execution
Ensure flawless execution of brand and operational standards including visual merchandising, in‑store
marketing, and operational routines.
Oversee inventory management accuracy, stock flow, and shrink prevention.
Ensure stores meet all compliance requirements: health & safety, labor law, security, and audit standards.
Support openings, closures, remodels, and new retail initiatives within the district.
Manage workforce hours to store budgets, in compliance with labor regulations and company policies.
Ensure store teams are clear on priorities, focusing on a small number of high impact actions rather than competing initiatives.
Customer experience and brand elevation
Champion world‑class customer experience across the region ensuring service standards are
exceeded.
Monitor customer metrics and drive improvement plans across districts.
Ensure strong brand expression through VM quality, store environment, and storytelling excellence.
People leadership and Talent Development
Recruit, onboard, and develop Store Managers and future leaders through coaching, feedback, and capability-building programs.
Conduct regular performance reviews, manage underperformance, and drive succession planning.
Promote an inclusive, people‑first culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and engagement.
Identify training needs and partner with HR/Training teams on development initiatives.
Champion team development, ensuring we have succession plan, internal promotions, consistency of execution across stores.
Customer and Brand experience
Champion brand DNA across stores ensuring strong visual identity, product storytelling, and elevated customer experience.
Ensure stores execute brand initiatives and marketing campaigns consistently and on time.
Model exceptional customer service and coach store teams to adopt best practices.
Cross functional /brand collaboration and communication
Act as the voice of stores with Brand’s HQ functions (Merchandising, VM), collaborate with central retail operations.
Communicate priorities, process changes, and performance expectations clearly to Store Managers.
Leverage technology and digital tools to support operations and reporting routines.
Work closely with the Local HR, Health and Safety and Asset protection teams.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
-7+ years of retail leadership experience including multi‑site responsibility.
-Proven record of achieving commercial and operational results.
-Strong people leader with demonstrated coaching and development skills.
-Data‑driven decision maker with strong business acumen and planning capability.
-Able to manage complexity, ambiguity, and pace across multiple locations, while maintaining focus on execution excellence
-High learning agility and adaptability in fast‑paced, evolving retail environments
-Availability to travel internationally and to work on week ends.
-Residence in Madrid.

Incentive Potential This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential.
