The Opportunity
The District Managerwill lead a team of 5-7 Point of Care Solution Specialists that cover Hospital and Outpatient customer segments andbe responsible forgenerating sales in the growing Point of Care diagnostics industry.Themustresidein Northern CA, NV or AZ and be willing to travel approximately 50% in the local area. The sales cycle ishighly complexand involves multiple stakeholders across several hospital service lines, outpatient caresettingsand distribution partners. You willbe responsible forproviding leadership to sales representatives through direction, motivation, coaching, skill development, and knowledge sharing to lead your team to execute sales strategies that result in financial goal attainment, strong customerloyaltyand staff development. Hire, develop and coach extraordinary sales professionals who execute complex, long-term sales strategies to address customer pain-points and maximize long-term partnerships with Abbott Point of Care (APOC)
Work in the field with sales team toidentifyand synthesize customer and competitor insights, market and industry challenges, and apply APOC product solutions to drive long-term strategies and foster enduring customerrelationships
Ensure achievement of sales and commercialobjectivesacross assigned district
Develop and execute plans to accelerate district sales growth and profitably capture and increase marketshare
Take an entrepreneurial approach to increase the district’sprofitability;
Partner with cross functional internal APOC colleagues to ensure your customers meet or exceed contractualobligations
Champion new initiatives andidentifyopportunities to build a culture of collaboration within thedistrict
Build strong and lasting relationships with our Distribution partners that maximize top line growth and profitability forAPOC
Required Qualifications
Bachelor'sDegree
7+ years of experience in a healthcare, diagnostics, point of care (POC), lab, or capital equipment sales environment.
3+ years of experience leading, developing, training, and mentoring direct reports.
Possesses strong MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) skills.
Highly proficient at using the Salesforce.com, or similar, CRMplatform
Mustresideint the district and be able totravelup to 80% in assigned district and other business locations(as necessary)
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to build a high performing sales team through a combination of talent identification, talent development, and continuous performance management.
Documented history of being a consistent overachieving sales leader (i.e., President’s Club winner).
Consistently ranks among the top 20% in peer sales group.
Hasestablishedcontacts at Integrated Delivery Networks and Hospital Systems within assigned territory.
Attended multiple sales training courses (e.g., Challenger, Miller Heiman, etc.), andis an active user of one or multiple effective sales methodologies.
Established relationships withMedicaldistribution representatives, preferably in the hiring region.
Proven leader, trainer, and coach of sales professionals within the hospital or outpatient Diagnostics or Medical Devices industry.
