Job Description

Description

Sal’s Pizza is seeking a high-impact District Manager to help lead, develop, and scale operations across multiple restaurant locations. This role is critical to building a strong leadership culture focused on operational excellence, accountability, employee development, guest experience, and long-term growth.

We are looking for a hands-on leader who thrives in the field, develops people, builds strong teams, and drives consistency across locations. The ideal candidate understands that great operations start with great leadership, training, communication, and culture.

This is not a desk role. Successful candidates will be highly visible in stores, actively coaching managers, improving team performance, and helping create an environment where employees want to stay, grow, and succeed.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership & Field Execution

  • Lead day-to-day operational execution across assigned restaurant locations.
  • Maintain a strong in-store presence, spending the majority of time in the field coaching and supporting teams.
  • Ensure consistent execution of operational standards, food quality, cleanliness, hospitality, and brand expectations.
  • Reinforce SOPs, systems, checklists, and operational discipline across all locations.
  • Identify operational gaps quickly and implement sustainable solutions.

Leadership Development & Culture Building

  • Coach, mentor, and develop Store Managers and Team Leads into stronger operational leaders.
  • Help build a culture centered around accountability, teamwork, professionalism, communication, and respect.
  • Support leadership consistency across locations to improve morale, retention, and employee engagement.
  • Promote a positive, performance-driven environment where employees feel supported, recognized, and developed.
  • Partner with leadership and HR to strengthen onboarding, training, and leadership development initiatives.

Hiring, Retention & Scalability

  • Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and developing high-performing managers and future leaders.
  • Build bench strength and succession plans for key operational roles.
  • Support scalable training and staffing practices as the company continues to grow.
  • Reduce turnover through stronger leadership presence, coaching, communication, and employee engagement.
  • Ensure new hires are properly onboarded, trained, and integrated into company culture.

Performance Management & Accountability

  • Monitor and improve key operational metrics including:
  1. Sales performance
  2. Labor management
  3. Food cost controls
  4. Guest experience
  5. Employee retention and turnover
  6. Training completion and operational compliance
  • Hold managers accountable while providing coaching and support needed for success.
  • Execute corrective action plans for underperforming locations and teams.
  • Drive urgency, follow-through, and operational consistency.

Compliance & Operational Standards

  • Conduct regular operational, safety, sanitation, and compliance audits.
  • Ensure stores consistently meet health, safety, labor, and company standards.
  • Track operational deficiencies and ensure timely resolution.
  • Partner with HR and leadership on employee relations and workplace concerns as needed.

Communication & Strategic Partnership

  • Provide concise operational updates and field insights to leadership.
  • Escalate operational risks, staffing concerns, and trends proactively.
  • Share best practices and operational wins across locations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, HR, Training, and Leadership teams to support company initiatives and growth.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of multi-unit restaurant leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and people-development skills.
  • Proven ability to improve operational execution and team performance.
  • Experience leading high-volume restaurant teams in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong communication, accountability, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to build trust, develop leaders, and create positive team culture.
  • Comfortable managing multiple locations and priorities simultaneously.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for leaders who:

  • Lead from the front
  • Develop people, not just processes
  • Hold high standards while building strong relationships
  • Thrive in fast-paced environments
  • Embrace accountability and continuous improvement
  • Understand the connection between culture, retention, guest experience, and operational success

At Sal’s Pizza, we are building more than restaurants — we are building teams, leaders, and a culture that can scale for long-term growth.
