Position Information District Maintenance Administrator

Paris District Maintenance Office

The Paris District Maintenance Office is seeking a District Maintenance Administrator who is ready to combine strong planning and leadership abilities with transportation maintenance expertise to make a lasting impact on the condition and safety of our roadways.

Reporting directly to the Director of Maintenance, this position plays a key leadership role in developing and monitoring annual budget-based work plans for roadway maintenance materials, equipment, and operational activities. The District Maintenance Administrator helps ensure resources are effectively managed to support maintenance operations across the district.

This position is also actively involved in the development, coordination, and management of the district's response to emergency events, including hurricanes, winter storms, flooding events, and other critical incidents. In addition, the District Maintenance Administrator provides leadership for Facility Maintenance operations and oversees the District's Special Jobs Crew, which utilizes specialized equipment and expertise to support maintenance sections throughout our nine-county district.

Success in this role requires strong collaboration and communication skills, as you will work closely with both internal employees and external stakeholders while representing TxDOT's commitment to service excellence. Position Description

Oversees the maintenance of a district's highways and facilities in accordance with Department standards. Manages technical and/or clerical employees. Work requires contact with [other governmental agencies] and private entities. Reports to the Director of Operations or the Director of Maintenance. Employees at this level are virtually self-supervising and assume direct accountability for the work product.Essential Duties:Participates in implementing the Bridge Inspection Program.Coordinates building and grounds maintenance.Coordinates the aboveground and underground storage tank programs.Develops and monitors 3- and 5-year maintenance budgets.Directs the Emergency Operations Program.Drives to maintenance offices to perform site visits and monitor maintenance programs.Evaluates road conditions.Oversees district equipment operations and heavy equipment pool.Oversees emergency operations and coordinates with the State Emergency Management Operations Center.Oversees the district's seal coat program.Prioritizes the work of special maintenance crews.Provides technical expertise and coordination for maintenance operations including prioritizing projects, monitoringcorrespondence and writing memorandums and reports.Researches and evaluates data, interprets and analyzes results, prepares reports and recommends solutions to problems.Serves as advisor to maintenance supervisors and district staff.Troubleshoots the maintenance program and roadway conditions and performs trend analysis to identify future requirements.Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:Education: Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline. Relevant work experience may be substituted for degree on a year per year basis. Substitutions for Minimum QualificationsExperience: 5 years in transportation maintenance project administration, or related transportation experience. (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent). Related graduate level education may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis.Must have 3 years supervisory/managerial experience. Project leader or lead worker experience may substitute for supervisory/managerial experience.Licenses and Certifications:Valid driver’s license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.
