
POSITION TITLE: District Family Engagement Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: NON-BARGAINING-CITY WIDE
REPORTS TO: DISTRICT ATTENDANCE, CLIMATE AND CULTURE COORDINATOR
Implements state and local student attendance regulations. Facilitates or arranges for comprehensive educational and supportive services to families and their children. Performs residency verifications. Obtain updated community support and maintain a resource list for the district. Plans events and workshops for students and families.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT: TO PERFORM THIS JOB SUCCESSFULLY, AN INDIVIDUAL MUST BE ABLE TO PERFORM EACH ESSENTIAL DUTY SATISFACTORILY. EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree preferred in child service related area.
EXPERIENCE:
Two years experience in education, community outreach
Experience working with children and families
Knowledge of the Juvenile Court and DCF
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS:
Connecticut Motor Vehicle Operator's License and the ability to provide own transportation.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Basis knowledge and experience with standard hardware and software applications. Ability to use a computer for E-mail, word processing, accounting databases and presentations.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret instructions and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in specific field. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community. Ability to speak and communicate effectively. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.

Salary $45,619.00 Work Hours: 7 hours per day
