The Distribution Technician supports daily operations by receiving, storing, distributing, and replenishing medical and non‑medical supplies throughout the organization. This role ensures accurate inventory management, timely delivery of products, and adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards. The Distribution Technician works collaboratively with clinical and non‑clinical teams to maintain appropriate stock levels, support efficient operations, and contribute to uninterrupted patient care.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

- Experience
Prior experience working on computers using ERP/WMS platforms
Must be able to lift/move 75 lbs.

Driver's License Upon Hire
Forklift Certification - On-site training will be provided to employees to operate reach trucks and other similar equipment. Employees are not permitted to operate this equipment until completion of training and certification. Certification is required within 2 months of start date.

Experience with use of Forklift, Order Selector, Electric and Manual Pallet Jacks

JOB DUTIES
- Unloads FedEx, UPS, and Common Carrier trailers; inspects merchandise for damage; gathers pack lists and pertinent information to accurately determine recipient; and generates receiving documents and receipts utilizing PeopleSoft, Procurement Portal, and OnBase.
- Process all boxes, cartons, envelopes and vendor shipping containers using computer to enter information from purchase orders and memos; generates and attaches barcode tracking labels. Problem solves and resolves PO's that cannot be processed due to missing information.
- Answers department phone and email to resolve receipt and delivery issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Enters receiving information from receiving reports into PeopleSoft or SC Logistics delivery system and sorts completed work onto appropriate skid for delivery.
- Delivers merchandise using 26ft Box Truck with liftgate by loading and off-loading merchandise from trucks using variety of means including forklifts, order selectors, electric/manual pallet jacks, and manual loading techniques.
- Performs scheduled pickup and delivery operations across 45 on-campus and 13 off-campus locations, ensuring timely and accurate distribution of materials.
- Restocks General Stores with product in correct bin locations and picks customer orders with correct product and correct quantity.
- Utilizes computer printout sheet and/or handheld device to determine, document and replenished supply quantities. Completes cycle counting and inventory adjustments.
- Receives, transports, picks-up, and delivers fragile, time-sensitive, confidential, and critical clinic material such as, but not limited to, standard pharmaceuticals, tissue samples, testing kits, etc.
- Prepares, Inspects, Inventories, Consolidates, Stores, Stages, Delivers, and Distributes all overnight accommodations including cots, mattresses, hygiene kits, and linen kits across all UT Southwestern locations during Inclement Weather Events; recovers and resets inventory for future deployment.
- Transports Hospital Beds and Biomedical Equipment to and from UTSW Hospitals and Clinics for repair at Distribution Warehouse. Ensure beds and equipment are properly cleaned and sanitized for handling and transport.
- Ensures strict compliance with Chain of Custody procedures and standards across all supply chain functions, including delivery, transportation, and warehouse operations.
- Maintains warehouse, storage areas, and inventory locations in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
- Performs additional duties as assigned to support operational efficiency and business needs.
