Under indirect supervision, oversee work performed by contractors on AEP electrical facilities.

Distribution System Inspector - Distribution System Inspector Sr.:

What You'll Do:

  • Assist with job planning, safety, crew critique, or other tasks as needed.

  • Inspect and accept or reject contractor work for compliance to safety, design, construction standards, and construction quality.

  • Assure contracted construction projects flow smoothly.

  • Resolve customers' concerns associated with work performed by contractors.

  • Document construction events to protect AEP's interest from future claims.

  • Assure contractor invoices are accurate, complete, and reasonable.

  • Provide feedback concerning contractor performance to Contract Administration for use in future contracting activities.

  • Certify acceptability of contractors' work for invoice approval and payment.

  • Assume other duties as required.

What We're Looking For:

Distribution System Inspector:

Education requirements are listed below:

  • High school diploma or GED.

Work Experience requirement listed below:

  • Thorough knowledge of distribution work processes, procedures and safety standards.

  • Minimum two years experience as a Distribution System Inspector Assoc. or equivalent related experience.

Required License(s)/Certification(s) are listed below:

  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving safety record.

Distribution System Inspector Sr.:

Education requirements are listed below:

  • High school diploma or GED plus a two year' technical degree or 5 yrs distribution construction experience preferred.

Work Experience requirement listed below:

  • Thorough knowledge of distribution work processes, procedures and safety standards.

  • Minimum two years' experience as a Distribution System Inspector or equivalent related experience.

Required License(s)/Certification(s) are listed below:

  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving safety record

Work Location:

  • Primary work location can be out of any of the following service centers:

  • Belmont Ofc & Svc Bldg (47687 National Rd. St. Clairsville, Ohio 43950)

  • Canton South Svc Ctr (2100 Shepler Church Ave Canton, Ohio 44706)

  • N Philadelphia Svc Bldg (203 Mill Ave SE New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663)

  • Steubenville Svc Ctr (120 John Scott Highway Steubenville, Ohio 43952)

Distribution System Inspector Sr.: $87,633 - $102,241

$74,551.00 - $109,543.00

The Physical Demand Level for this job is: S – Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (Occasionally: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently. (Frequently: activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
