Distribution Team Member – 1st Shift

Hours: Monday – Friday 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM

Compensation: Base Pay at $16 per hour - this is an entry level position.

Essential Job Functions:

• Pick, pack and ship customer orders following guidelines, procedures and policies.
• Provides assistance for on-the-job training of new employees and cross-training of current employees.
• Develops and maintains positive relationships with customers.
• Communicate with appropriate personnel any potential shortages and backorders.
• Complies with all applicable quality system requirements.
• Seeks guidance and direction as necessary for the performance of the listed responsibilities and duties.
• Demonstrates good judgement in investigating and resolving problems.
• Always follows all safety procedures.
• Participates in 6S.
• Participates and provides input for process improvement programs

Knowledge and Education:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Process written and oral communication skills sufficient to speak clearly and distinctly and read in English.

Job Experience:

• Minimum of one (1) year inventory control or shipping / receiving experience preferred.

Skills and Competencies:

• Computer skills preferred: SAP – Processweaver, FedEx Manager, MS Office Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Performs expanded basic arithmetic calculations.
• Applies common sense understanding to carry out detailed written and oral instructions.
• Must be detail oriented, organized, possess good analytical, verbal and written communication skills.

Equipment Used:

• Standard office equipment, calculator, computer, wedge scanner, printers and shipping software.
• Manual and electric pallet jacks.
• Scales.
• Electric shrink wrap machine.

Physical Requirements

• Moderate physical activity performing somewhat strenuous day-to-day activities of a primarily productive and technical nature. (Lifting 60lbs / Carrying 40lbs.)
• Moderate lifting, carrying, bending, pushing/pulling, climbing and prolonged standing.
• Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, works with fingers, and perceives attributes of objects and material.
• Requires the ability to judge distance and space relationships (i.e. visualize objects of multiple dimensions)
• Ability to work in a well-lighted, climate controlled, warehouse setting with adequate ventilation.
