Distribution Project Engineer

Contract Position | West Palm Beach, Florida | On-Site | 12 Months

Our client is a leading energy company serving millions of customers across the United States. We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Distribution Project Engineer to join our Distribution Engineering team in Juno Beach, Florida.

This is an exceptional opportunity for early-career professionals to develop expertise in distribution system design, project management, and utility operations while providing exceptional customer service in a growing organization.

Under general supervision, you will provide project management and design services for distribution facilities while serving as the primary point of contact for engineering projects throughout our service territory. This role combines technical expertise with proactive customer communication to ensure project success from conception through completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform project management and design services for distribution facilities and infrastructure
  • Apply engineering principles and practices to diverse assignments across the distribution network
  • Serve as single point of contact for assigned projects, managing customer expectations and scope
  • Design and develop distribution system solutions for both new construction and maintenance activities
  • Make independent decisions regarding engineering complexities, methodologies, and best practices
  • Maintain proactive and reactive communication with stakeholders until project completion and customer satisfaction
  • Analyze technical problems and implement effective solutions
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables
  • Conduct customer negotiations and relationship management
  • Document project specifications and technical requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in a related field (Engineering, Electrical, etc.) OR High School Diploma/GED with equivalent work experience
  • Experience: 3+ years in combination of distribution/utility work and customer interactions/negotiations
  • Certification: Electric Power Technology Certification required
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency with distribution system design
  • Soft Skills: Advanced ability with integrity, compliance, and professional communication
  • Problem-Solving: Competent ability with analysis, problem-solving, and process management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in a related field of study
  • Experience with utility industry software and design tools
  • Project management certifications (PMP or equivalent)
  • Previous experience with customer-facing engineering roles

Compensation & Benefits

  • Contract Duration: 12 months with potential for extension
  • Schedule: 40 hours per week
  • Weekly time and expense sheet processing
