POSITION PURPOSE:
The Distribution Center Manger will oversee the warehouse workers and ensure daily shipping goals are being met as well as ensuring a safe work environment. This role will assist and develop direct reports to achieve desired results ensuring proper orientation, training, development, compensation and working conditions are present. Additionally, the Distribution Center Manager is a business partner to the Plant Leadership Team (PLT) and is responsible for building the distribution team and creating an environment of cultural alignment, problem identification and problem solving

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to excel at the essential functions assigned. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Manage shipping efficiencies and backorders.
  • Oversees pricing of freight, leases, shipping materials and supplies.
  • Oversee the delivery of products to dealers, contractors and jobsites throughout locations geographic region.
  • Responsible for the coordination and scheduling of deliveries to meet and exceed customers’ expectations while optimizing loads and minimizing work hours.
  • Review all paperwork in order to plan work activities, schedule appropriate personnel and balance loads.
  • Reflect our business values and philosophy in all business interactions.
  • Ensure safety of personnel and compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations.
  • Provide a safe and productive work environment, including housekeeping.
  • Role model CITE and Working in Teams principles.
  • Perform other tasks as directed by direct supervisor.

Experience/Skills:

  • 5-7 years as a Warehouse/DC Manager in an industrial environment
  • Experience managing data in WMS/ERP systems; Oracle ERP highly preferred
    Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
  • Must possess strong management and leadership skills and demonstrated ability to effectively lead and motivate a diverse group of employees.
  • Excellent working knowledge of safety practices and regulations, including OSHA compliance.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, be a team player and have the proven ability to multi-task in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common business reports.
  • Ability to listen and communicate effectively with customers/clients to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers/clients, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community and public.
  • Ability to develop presentations to be delivered to production team, plant level team, or public groups.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Education:

  • Bachelors Degree in a related field is preferred. Experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
