Your role: Distribution Manager

Distribution / Logistics Manager is an important part in the Commercial Supply Chain organization, responsible for collaborating with key stakeholders to support the implementation of the distribution network and governance related to external Logistics Service Providers (LSP’s) for Warehousing activities at the HUBS / DC and outbound shipments from DC to first paying customers.

Reporting to the Commercial SC Lead FRIBIT, she/he will support the performance of Elanco’s key Logistics Service Providers, through the development of relationships with all stakeholders such as: LSP’s, Wholesalers, Elanco Affiliates, Business units, Supply chain, Manufacturing, Finance, Quality, Order To Cash, Shared Service Centers.

This role will have split responsibilities, managing LSPs in FRIBIT cluster and operational support of the HUB business in BSD cluster. With that, there will be a dotted reporting line to the BSD Distribution/Logistics Manager.


Your Responsibilities:

General LSP Management:

  • Evaluate the external environment and drive distribution services to ensure optimal flow of the product from Elanco to our customer base.

  • Relationship and Tactical Management of LSP’s.

  • Act as the central point of contact and as escalation point to coordinate and facilitate multiple Elanco and business unit objectives, ensuring priorities and timescales are aligned and clearly understood by LSPs and internal stakeholders.

  • Monitor and report LSP performance against an agreed set of metrics (KPIs, SLAs). Ensure close follow-up of action plans and issue resolution with the LSPs and Elanco parties.

  • Support procurement in contract negotiations with the LSP and act as both local consultant and subject matter expert to both influence and drive the implementation of Elanco’s distribution strategies and plans.

  • Drive volume projection with Supply Chain, align with LSP on future volume outlook

  • Manage cost monitoring with LSP, have full responsibility on order management

  • Support HUB business and shipping coordination in close alignment with corresponding parties

Issue Management:

  • Follow-up on daily operational issues, complaints and ad-hoc intervention and drive the solution

  • Drive / support deviation management and corresponding root cause analysis / CAPAs

  • Drive continuous improvement and issue resolution with LSP´s. Identify potential cost savings, best practices knowledge, Elanco’s business evolution needs and emerging distribution trends.

  • Supervise the yearly stock count and ensure that annual stock counts are conducted in line with the FCO guidance

  • Support coordination of the scrapping process (for some countries).

  • Support SOC-1 SOX controls, if applicable

  • Lead distribution readiness for launches

  • Manage custom clearance activities in close collaboration with ITCC team, where needed

  • Support global initiatives coming from Warehouse Excellence team or Transportation Excellence Team

What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Economics or related area

  • 3 - 5 years of proven professional experience in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, and / or customer service

  • Project management or coordination experience

  • Fluent in Spanish and English

  • Experience with SAP

  • Experience in outbound distribution (warehousing and transport)

  • Experience in distribution of ambient, dangerous goods, controlled drugs and cold chain products

  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems and/or warehouse operations

  • Knowledge of GDP (Good Distribution Practices)

  • Demonstrated capability to analyze and report Logistic KPI’s.

  • Excellent communicator, ability to influence broadly

  • Demonstrated learning agility, flexibility, ability to focus and prioritize
